Even the deepest valley
Has paths that come in and lead out,
Though they be steep and rough;
Although they might fill one with doubt,
They take us on to new lands.
Even the darkest places
Are touched by the sun’s warmth and light,
Often hidden by clouds;
Though its presence may not seem bright;
Its life giving rays shine on.
Hope for the broken-hearted
Is the path that leads to new lands,
Out of the deep valleys;
To the high places where we stand
Firm in truth and fresh vision.
Laughter for the downcast soul
Is sunshine that dispels the dark,
Bringing sweet warmth within,
As its rays light a joyful spark;
That brings true courage again.
